“I tried to show the chain that assists people to climb and how steep the climb is. While I was there a number of climbers underestimated the time and were scrambling to get down again around sunset - which is quite dangerous given the unrelenting face of the rock. About 38 have been killed attempting this and underestimating the task. Climbing is discouraged by the owners and custodians of the rock but they don't outlaw it entirely (as I had previously thought).” ~ From: “ Alice Springs : Australia’s Irony Theme Park”, Essay under construction by Lyndon Walker.
